It is under the administration of the prefecture-level city of Qingyuan (\u6e05\u8fdc). <\/p>\n<p>Although Lianzhou has a long history for over 4000 years, there are few historical remains except the Jingfu Mountain Daoist temple (\u9759\u798f\u5c71\u9053\u6559\u798f\u5730) which can be traced back to Nanbei (\u5357\u5317) Dynasty. The rest of the scenery sites are newly developed, such as Huangchuan Three Gorges (\u714c\u5ddd\u4e09\u5ce1), Underground River \uff08\u8fde\u5dde\u5730\u4e0b\u6cb3\uff09, Tanling Lake (\u6f6d\u5cad\u5929\u6e56), Grand Dongshan Hot Spring (\u5927\u4e1c\u5c71\u6e29\u6cc9).<\/p>\n<p>A typical weekend getaway starts from late Friday night driving to Lianzhou (\u8fde\u5dde), spend the Friday and Saturday night in Lianzhou and return to origin on Sunday afternoon. <\/p>\n<p>Day 1: Underground River \uff08\u8fde\u5dde\u5730\u4e0b\u6cb3\uff09and Three Gorges (\u714c\u5ddd\u4e09\u5ce1)<br \/>\nUnderground River \uff08\u8fde\u5dde\u5730\u4e0b\u6cb3\uff09is a giant natural limestone cave with an underground river. You will follow the tour guide through the neon lighted cave on foot over 45 minutes. You will ride back in a human powered boat to the entrance. I feel it is more interesting than the caves in Yangshuo \u9633\u6714\u3002 150RMB, 2 hours<br \/>\n<div style=\"width: 510px\" class=\"wp-caption alignnone\"><img data-recalc-dims=\"1\" loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" alt=\"\" src=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/farm9.staticflickr.com\/8304\/7975387095_32cc052bfc.jpg?resize=500%2C332\" title=\"Lianzhou Underground River \uff08\u8fde\u5dde\u5730\u4e0b\u6cb3\uff09\" width=\"500\" height=\"332\" \/><p class=\"wp-caption-text\">Lianzhou Underground River \uff08\u8fde\u5dde\u5730\u4e0b\u6cb3\uff09<\/p><\/div><br \/>\nHuangchuan Three Gorges (\u714c\u5ddd\u4e09\u5ce1) is on the Lian river. There are dense forest and small water falls on the cliffs along the river. 30RMB(if you also tour the Underground river at full price) or 60RMB, 1 hour boat tour.<br \/>\n<div style=\"width: 510px\" class=\"wp-caption alignnone\"><img data-recalc-dims=\"1\" loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" alt=\"\" src=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/farm9.staticflickr.com\/8308\/7975424024_db561f5a47.jpg?resize=500%2C332\" title=\"Huangchuan Three Gorges (\u714c\u5ddd\u4e09\u5ce1)\" width=\"500\" height=\"332\" \/><p class=\"wp-caption-text\">Huangchuan Three Gorges (\u714c\u5ddd\u4e09\u5ce1)<\/p><\/div><\/p>\n<p>Day 2: Tanling Lake (\u6f6d\u5cad\u5929\u6e56) is a reservoir about 12 square kilometers in size. The best season to go is in the winter. The flat water surface covered by the dense frog may look like scene from a scary movie. There is hardly any thing to do there in all other seasons except for photography. Free, 1 hour.<br \/>\n<div style=\"width: 510px\" class=\"wp-caption alignnone\"><img data-recalc-dims=\"1\" loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" alt=\"\" src=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/farm9.staticflickr.com\/8302\/7975573022_5e35b2db68.jpg?resize=500%2C332\" title=\"Tanling Lake (\u6f6d\u5cad\u5929\u6e56) \" width=\"500\" height=\"332\" \/><p class=\"wp-caption-text\">Tanling Lake (\u6f6d\u5cad\u5929\u6e56)<\/p><\/div><br \/>\nJingfu Mountain Daoist temple (\u9759\u798f\u5c71\u9053\u6559\u798f\u5730) is a small temple. The new statues of Taoist greats sit in the rebuild small temple. 22 RMB, 30 min. It is very quite and green. It is much less developed than Guiling with far less travelled. You will find the scene that is all original. Nothing touristy. (Guiling in the 80s)<br \/>\n<div style=\"width: 342px\" class=\"wp-caption alignnone\"><img data-recalc-dims=\"1\" loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" alt=\"\" src=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/farm9.staticflickr.com\/8042\/7975690466_01e09b1426.jpg?resize=332%2C500\" title=\"Yangshan Little Guiling (\u9633\u5c71\u5c0f\u6842\u6797)\" width=\"332\" height=\"500\" \/><p class=\"wp-caption-text\">Yangshan Little Guiling (\u9633\u5c71\u5c0f\u6842\u6797)<\/p><\/div><\/p>\n<p>Transportation:<br \/>\nCar: Lianzhou is 230 kilometers from Guangzhou and about 3-hour drive along the National Highway 107.<br \/>\nBus: Lianzhou is connected to all major cities in Guangdong, such as Guangzhou, Shenzhen or even cities in Hunan such as Changsha (\u957f\u6c99). However, there is no public bus to go to the major attractions listed above. Since they are 20-50 km away from the city, taxi fare can be expensive.<br \/>\nIn other words, go there with your own car or join a tour group is better option.<\/p>\n<p>Food: There are plenty of restrauants in Lianzhou which serves Guangdong style dishes. You shall try Qingyuan chichen (\u6e05\u8fdc\u9e21) which is the most famous local dish.<br \/>\n<div style=\"width: 510px\" class=\"wp-caption alignnone\"><img data-recalc-dims=\"1\" loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" alt=\"\" src=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/farm9.staticflickr.com\/8440\/7975690265_0da5454ef8.jpg?resize=500%2C332\" title=\"Qingyuan Chicken (\u6e05\u8fdc\u9e21)\" width=\"500\" height=\"332\" \/><p class=\"wp-caption-text\">Qingyuan Chicken (\u6e05\u8fdc\u9e21)<\/p><\/div><br \/>\nThis restrauant claims to be the original Qingyuan chicken (\u6e05\u8fdc\u9e21) in Qingyuan.
