路遇学中文的美国老人
今天早上我一个人去“乡巴佬”公园（当地华人对这个公共公园的昵称）Peter F. Schabarum Regional Park徒步，遇到一个美国白人老头带着耳机，一边徒步一边学中文，嘴里复述：你好，谢谢等简单的中文单词。 我转头说了一句：Your Chinese pronunciation is perfect!
他看了看我，摘下耳机，说：Your English pronunciation is perfect.
我说：我以前在这里上学的，但现在在中国工作。
他用英文说：哦，那你肯定知道现在中国武汉肺炎，吓死人了。我看youtube上说武汉有30多个火葬场，每个的产能是一天100，据说每天满负荷运转，这两天又有几十辆移动火葬车去了武汉，说是烧动物的，谁信？
官方的数据是2万？不知道。我觉得有2，30万人死了。
我听了以后：略微停了一下说：
Wuhan is a city of 11 million people，the capital of Hubei. Hubei is a state as big as California. They are seriously affected by the CoranaVirus outbreak. The first case was reported last year. It was not contained and has been spreading around the world. Now, Wuhan is locked down and Hubei is restricted. I have no information about the actual numbers of these two places. However, all other states (province) are getting better every day. Guangdong, which is a coastal state as California has seen no newly infected case for serval days.
Yes, I believe that they made a mistake. But , the whole country is taking actions to contain the epidemic. The result is positive. It is getting better. I can not verify the numbers. I can tell you that my factory in Guangdong reopened last week.
然后他说：You are there, so you know better. I am just a white American who watches youtube. You know. I just don’t believe whatever they say and the numbers they cook up.
我：Me neither. 但你的中文真的很好，发音极其标准，刚才我走过去以为一个中国人在打电话。Keep it up。
他说：谢谢。I hike here every day, hope to see you soon.
我：Sure, next time we meet. We will discuss Mr Trump’s election strategy in Chinese. C ya soon.
